Jonapress is a pasteurised apple juice made by pressing the Jonagold apples using traditional methods, without any added sugar, water or conservatives.
Origins
Geneva research centre ( New York - USA ) in 1953 and marketed in 1968. Cross between Golden Delicious and Jonathan.

Half-spread with relatively open branch angles – fast growing – Triploid variety, partially self-fertile - pollinators : Vista Bella, James Grieve, Primerouge, Mc Intosh, Arlet, Idared, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Melrose, Pomme cloche, Cox Orange, Reine des Reinettes, Spartan, Elstar, Gloster. Not very fertile with Golden Delicious
Fruit 
Large or very big in size, 70/90 mm diameter, average weight 220g – yellow background, greenish to golden yellow with orangey red stripes – smooth peel, graining, the wax develops as they are kept, small star shape highlights – yellowish flesh, rather firm, sometimes woolly, crunchy, juicy, slightly acid, very perfumed, harmonious background – any apples pale in colour are tasteless - early picking increase the likelihood of bitter pit.
